Our after-school club at St Martin’s School has been providing parents and children with childcare since September 2012.

St Martin’s C of E Primary School was the first primary school to be built in the new eco-town of Cranbrook, and we are very excited to play an important part in forming the social infrastructure of the town as it grows. We opened in September 2012 with children who used to attend Clyst Honiton C of E Primary School, together with the first children who moved to the town of Cranbrook. Since opening the club, we have continued to grow. In 2023, we moved the after-school club to the Young Hayes Centre to increase our capacity and meet the needs of parents.

The after-school club is located in the Young Hayes Centre, opposite St Martin’s School. Each night, we gather the children in the “school hub,” complete the register, and then walk across to the Young Hayes Centre for an afternoon filled with fun. If the weather is nice, sometimes we stay in the school and make use of the school fields or the park next to the school. We will always leave a note on the club door if there are any changes.

We also have access to a purpose-built commercial kitchen area at the Young Hayes Centre, where children can help make homemade soups and savory muffins for the afternoon snack.
